L. Reed Shirley, M.D.

Dr. Reed Shirley, a native Houstonian, attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennesse where he graduated with honors and received an undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology. Dr. Shirley received his medical degree from Vanderbilt. Dr. Shirley completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Stanford University Hospital in Stanford, California. Dr. Shirley moved to Durham, North Carolina and attended Duke University Medical School where he was a fellow in Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Pulmonary Diseases.

After completing his fellowship, he joined the full-time faculty of the Medical University of South Carolina where he was an Assistant Professor of Pediatric and of Immunology and Microbiology. For ten years before returning to the Greater Houston area he served as Head of the Division of Allergy and Immunology.

Dr. Shirley is board certified in Pediatrics and Allergy and Immunology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology.
