Allergy & Asthma Clinic in Memorial, Houston

The Memorial area of Houston — encompassing Memorial Villages, Bunker Hill, Hedwig Village, Spring Branch, Memorial City, Energy Corridor, and Westchase — is one of the most beautifully wooded parts of the city. Mature live oaks, pecans, sweetgums, and pines line the streets and shade properties from Memorial Drive to Westheimer. Unfortunately, those same trees are the reason so many Memorial residents struggle with relentless seasonal allergies, sinus pressure, asthma, and chronic cough. Our allergy and asthma clinic serving Memorial provides board-certified, comprehensive care for patients across 77024, 77042, 77043, 77055, and 77079.

Our Mission

We offer the complete spectrum of allergy testing and treatment: environmental skin testing for trees, grasses, weeds, molds, dust mites, cockroach, and animal danders; food allergy testing and supervised oral food challenges; drug allergy evaluation including penicillin de-labeling; venom testing for stinging insect reactions; and patch testing for contact dermatitis. Most testing is completed during a single visit, with results reviewed in real time so you leave with a clear picture of what is — and is not — driving your symptoms. For patients who want long-term relief, we offer customized immunotherapy, both subcutaneous (allergy shots) and sublingual options, targeting the specific trees and grasses that dominate the Memorial area canopy.

Our Memorial-area patients include a high number of professionals working in the Energy Corridor and Memorial City who simply cannot afford to lose days to congestion, sinus infections, or asthma flares. We focus on precise, data-driven asthma care using spirometry, FeNO testing, and biomarker-guided treatment. For patients with moderate-to-severe asthma, eosinophilic asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, or atopic dermatitis, we offer in-office biologics including Dupixent, Xolair, Nucala, Fasenra, Tezspire, and Cinqair. Many of our Memorial patients tell us biologic therapy has been life-changing — allowing them to taper off oral steroids and dramatically reduce ER visits.

FAQs

Common Questions

The mature tree canopy that makes Memorial so attractive — live oak, pecan, sweetgum, pine, ash, and elm — produces enormous amounts of pollen, especially in February through May. Combine that with Houston’s year-round mold load, the dust and dander that build up in our tightly air-conditioned homes, and the ozone from heavy traffic on I-10 and Beltway 8, and you have an environment that triggers allergies and asthma in even mildly sensitive people. Targeted testing tells us exactly which of these is hitting you hardest.
Often, yes. Allergy profiles change — people lose some sensitivities, develop new ones (especially after a move or pregnancy), and respond to changes in the local pollen and mold mix. If your symptoms have changed or your previous treatment plan isn’t working anymore, retesting is reasonable. We’ll review prior records before repeating anything unnecessarily.
Yes. We administer Dupixent (for asthma, eczema, nasal polyps, EoE, and prurigo nodularis), Xolair, Nucala, Fasenra, Tezspire, and Cinqair on-site at scheduled intervals. Our nursing team handles the prior authorization process and specialty pharmacy coordination, which is a common pain point with these medications.
Absolutely. Adult-onset asthma behaves differently from childhood asthma — it’s more often associated with sinus disease, nasal polyps, aspirin sensitivity, and eosinophilic inflammation. Our workup includes spirometry, FeNO, IgE, eosinophil count, and targeted allergy testing, all of which guide whether you need a controller inhaler, biologic therapy, or further workup.
Yes — chronic urticaria is one of the conditions we see most often. Most chronic hives are not from food. We use a systematic workup to rule out triggers, and for hives lasting more than 6 weeks despite antihistamines, we offer Xolair, which is highly effective and well-tolerated.
You can call our office or request an appointment online. We typically offer new-patient appointments within the same week, and we’ll verify your insurance benefits before your visit.
